Amount of daylight hours during winter?
Hi, does anyone know a RELIABLE site that can tell me how many average daylight hours European countries have during december?
(England, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France)
I’ve looked at several calculation sites but they all come out way off. Krakow locals say daylight averages 90 minutes during december but all the calculation sites tell me 7 hours. So I’m looking for a reliable site.

51% of MA citizens are now registered Independents and that has happened since 2006/07. To register as one you are generally a small government type, and he is one. BTW Brown is not a Conservative by any means.

What should I do about my grandparents making racist remarks about my boyfriend?
My boyfriend is Taiwanese, and when we went to Thanksgiving at my grandparents’ house, things got a little tense. My grandfather kept referring to him as "Korean" or "Japanese," no matter how many times he politely corrected him. My boyfriend even said (I didn’t hear but then again I wasn’t always in the room when they were talking) that he muttered something like "Doesn’t matter, they all look the same…" My grandmother kept saying things like "Well, I don’t know how you two manage to stay together, you’re so different," and "Your children will certainly be… interesting…" It was pretty clear they did not approve of him, and both of us were pretty angry by the time we left.
I love my grandparents, but they are very conservative and a little old fashioned. We have to go back to visit for Christmas. What should we do if they start up with the thinly veiled racist comments?
Edited for clarification, we have asked them to stop. They claim they’re not saying anything racist and "they just want what’s best for me."
To those telling me not to go, thanks for your answers, but my mother (who adores my boyfriend, btw) is very into us having a "Family Christmas" and it would break her heart if we weren’t there. I’ve talked to her about it but her stance is "Ignore it, put on a fake smile, and soldier through."

Not really even thinly veiled. They’re old and set in their ways. Not much you can do about it. Just have a thick skin and have your boyfriend develop the same. And hang out with your grandparents with him as little as possible - be civil, take the high road, be better people than your grandparents. Sad, but you sometimes have to acknowledge your family’s failings at times.

Ever had a 4 year-old trying to bully you?
We were at an indoor playground last week with my 4 year-old and my 7 month-old who likes bouncing. Being a quiet day and there was no one on the bouncing castle, I took baby there to have a few jumps.
A little kid comes, bends over to look right in my face and says "You can’t be here, babies have to go there". I told him that we will be exactly where I want us to be, thank you very much.
I thought that was the end of it, the bouncing castle being quite large.
But no, he took a big jump and landed right where my baby was a second ago, I had just pulled him on time.
The little brat looked pretty happy with himself and was still confronting me, pulling his tongue!
I WAS IN SHOCK of what could have happened.
Then I snarled "You’re so lucky, if you hurt my baby, I will break both your legs"
And the little bully ran away. His mum had a nice time reading a mag’ and wasn’t at all disturbed.
Gee, what would you do to get those brats off you and your kids? He was so defiant as well, maintaining my stare. I wonder what that will become, give it another 10 years! I don’t think the streets will be safe.

Hard to tell. seems like he is giving mixed signals. soimetimes guys talk about other girls to see if it upsets you or not. i would just ask him to hang out. and if he says yes then you know he has some interest in you. if he makes a lame excuse he just wants to be friends, oyu could invite him to something where it wouldnt be so obvious. or you could bring up movies and ask him what his fav is and say "oh i have that movie and i love it also. you should come over and watch it sometime" and take his reaction as your answer to this question. hope it helps

I’ve read The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, and it is certainly interesting. He was quite a character and I would recommend the book. I’m not a huge reader of non-fiction, but I adored this book.
I’ve also read Song of Solomon, which is excellent. Toni Morrison is one of my all-time favorite authors. The stories, while they contain elements that could be considered "magical realism" are still very honest. The characters are well developed as is the storyline. I would highly recommend anything she has written.
I’ve also read Hemingway, and adore him as well. The Sun Also Rises is amazing. However, I’ve met people who hate it. So if you’re considering Hemingway, you might read the first chapter or so to see if the style is for you.

kay so my brother is two years older than me, and he has an amazing friend. His name is Kendall, and his just incredible. Everytime he comes to my house, he’ll talk to me like none of my brothers other friends do. At school he talks to me and sometimes sits with me at lunch. I developed deep feelings for him, and I think he likes me too. But he’s my brothers best friend! I’m 15, and he’s 17, and he’s just the sweetest person. Whenever it rains at school, he walks me to each of my classes, even if his class is on the other side of campus, with his umbrella so I don’t get wet. His family is close to mine, so I go to his house for barbecues a lot, and whenever I do, we hang out while my brother hangs with Kendall’s twin. When I was at school today, we have a valentines day stall in the courtyard, and Kendall was lining up. I was behind him in the line, which he didn’t realize, and when they asked for the name of the girl he wanted send a rose and chocolates to, he said my name. I was completely shocked. awwwww! thats so cute. its pretty obvious that he likes you. how many kendalls is he thattt close with? and your brother shouldnt get in between that, isnt that against the bro code or something?
anyway you’ll find out in 2 weeks, so just talk to him alot. ask him if hes sending any roses, ask him if he likes anyone. but dont push it. be flirty. call him or somethig. im turning 15 in a few months and i haaate situations where you just dont know! haha

that sounds just like me and my bf(3yrs now). my brother is dating a girl and her cousin "alex" became good friends with my brother. they are really cool with eachother anyways he asked for my number about after a year because he wa so worried my dad, my brother, and his cousin that he took so long to ask me out. anyways he did, my brother was a little caught off gaurd by this at 1st but then he quickly got over because it’s someone he knows and gets along with. so it works out great on weekends we all hang out they play madden, watch football and i get to be with my bf, brother, and my future sister in law. oh yeah so do it he really likes you, seriously and he sounds sweet. before me and bf dated he would see me and be like "you look cold use my jacket" or "here’s a rose for you. they gave it to me at earlier". at this wedding we both went to. I was Duh how many hints did i need lol. ask for his number say wanna grab lunch with me this weekend. eating is always a good excuse to get close with someone
